Events HQ News

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I would just like to thank all of my customer’s past and present for making 2011 a fantastic year for Events HQ and I hope that 2012 will be just as successful.

We have now fully moved into our new workshop which is located by the Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port and I am now taking appointments in the showroom to view my products.

I am in the middle of sorting out an open evening/day in the next 2 months at the showroom to official launch the new showroom and I will be joined by other local suppliers for all your wedding and events needs. Once it has been arranged I will let everyone know.

We have lots of new products that will be joining our collection for 2012 and I have already started working on new centrepiece ideas which will all be uploaded to our website very soon.

If you would like to make a booking please do not hesitate as I am starting to get booked up throughout the summer and don’t forget if you book in January you will receive a 10% discount off your final invoice and you will be entered into the competition to win free venue dressing.

I look forward to hearing from everyone and I can’t wait to get started working on some fantastic weddings and events I have booked in for 2012.

Chair Cover Styles

Events HQ supply both Cotton and Spandex Chair Covers to fit any banqueting chair. Some Brides are unsure for which Chair Cover style to pick so I have listed some pro’s and con’s below for each cover to help you decided which cover is right for you.

Cotton Chair Covers come in a variety of sizes large and small to fit any banqueting chair. They have a loose fitted skirt around the bottom to cover the legs and give a more traditional look to your wedding. You may find that throughout the day cotton chair covers may slide slightly when your guests are up and down. Cotton Chair Covers are a more traditional cover which I find the majority of customers choose.

Spandex Chair Covers can also be known as Lycra Chair Covers or Stretchy Chair Covers. They come in one size but fit all banqueting chair styles as they stretch over to size and have pockets in each corner for the legs to sit in. I feel the Spandex Chair Covers give a more modern look to your wedding. Spandex Chair Covers work great with smaller chairs as I have seen some companies use large loose Cotton covers on small chairs which make the chairs look lost under all the material and may become a trip hazard. Events HQ do have smaller Cotton Chair Covers so this is not a problem for us.

When brides ask me my preference and what I think they should pick, I strongly advise that it all depends on their wedding style and preference; I do not push any of my customers into picking one type over another as styles that suit some brides may not suit the other. Taking this into consideration is why I offer both Cotton and Spandex chair covers in White, Ivory and Black. If you are unsure of what colour Chair Cover to order always check with your venue to see what colour table linen they are providing.

The pictures I have used are of both Cotton and Spandex Chair Covers I have set up at Carden Park, Cheshire and I hope that these pictures will help you decide which Chair Cover is best for you.

I hope that this blog has helped and has given you more of an insight into the Chair Covers Events HQ have to offer you and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact myself.

Many Thanks

Rachel

Peckforton Castle – Every Princesses Castle!

We have been working at Peckforton Castle for a number of years now and still to this day get taken back as you walk though the arch going into the centre of the castle and look up. It really is every princesses dream castle and wedding venue.

  sandstone_trail_peckforton_castle

On this blog I wanted to start letting you all know about the venues I am working at and maybe even give you some secrets to what I think works best in each venue, as not all types of décor work for ever venue. So I thought why not start with one of my personal favourites, Peckforton Castle.

Peckforton Castle is located around 20 minutes outside of Chester. It is a truly magical wedding venue and is perfect for a fairy tale wedding.

Not only does Peckforton Castle have a number of rooms you can choose from to get married in, there is also a chapel where you can have a wedding blessing by the local priest.  Friends of mine did this last year and it was a lovely addition to the wedding. You also have the hexagonal room which is the perfect room for a smaller wedding, and can be dressed lovely for a wedding breakfast. The main function room at Peckforton Castle is the Great Hall and as the name suggests it is a great hall, which can accommodate any size party. This room is ideal for wedding ceremonies as it is spacious and airy and can provide some amazing photos.

Now, I may be biased, as I love candelabras, but for me the only way to go when it comes to centrepieces at Peckforton Castle is Candelabras, they are just perfect for the setting and just complement the venue. For a wedding breakfast candelabras on each table, with large glass mirrors underneath and standing candelabras at each end on the top table look amazing every time.

I could go on all day with ideas for this beautiful castle setting but the main thing to remember is to embrace the fact you are getting married in a castle, so how ever much you may love those light up ostrich feathered centrepieces, they may not really work in a historic castle!!!

Hope you enjoyed this post and keep checking back for more, as I will be starting to write about each venue I have worked at one by one.

Thanks

Rachel

Welcome to the Events HQ Blog

Hello and welcome to my very first blog. Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Rachel and I am the owner of Events HQ. The Company was established in January 2010 and has gone from strength to strength. Events HQ specialise in event hire and venue dressing for all occasions. I am very passionate about my business and there is not a minute that goes by when I am not thinking about Events HQ. I am constantly thinking of new ideas and always looking to grow my business and take it to the next level.

My background is in childcare which I have worked in for many years but after having my first daughter I decided that it was time for a career change and it was now or never and I have never looked back. 2011 has been a challenge for me, in January I decided to give up work and become solely self-employed which was very scary, I then started looking for work space and in April 2011 I moved into my very own workshop which is fantastic as I was able to move all of my work stuff out of my house. In July 2011 I gave birth to my 2nd Daughter (Tillie Mae) I took 2 weeks off work and then was straight back to it, I must admit I have found it hard juggling childcare and work with my daughter being so young. My eldest has now started pre-school 2 and half days a week which is fantastic and I have had help from my family and friends.

That is enough about me; I have decided to start a weekly blog which will be posted every Monday, In my blog I will talk about the venue’s I have worked at during the weekend, new trends, ideas, other businesses I have worked with and much more.

Please check back every week to see new images and to read my blog, I hope that you enjoy it and find it useful.

Thank you

Rachel @ Events HQ
